The Biostatistics and technologies of information and communication service (BioSTIC) has for mission to bring and resort to methods center on the professions of biostatistics, medical information and technologies of information and communication to contribute to the development of clinical and epidemiological research and this for the benefit of patients.
The BioSTIC team proposes formalized consultations in order to support investigators in their clinical and epidemiological projects, innovative experimentations in patients care or patients monitoring and needing methods from biostatistics, medical information and technologies of information and communication. This consultation is organized in a structured activity and is part of a quality assurance approach. It process projects promoted by AP-HM or not but implicating its staff. It assures a technical and scientific support for the implementation and monitoring of research projects as well as statistical analysis and results valorization.
The predilection areas of the BioSTIC team are biostatistics, biomathematics, epidemiology, medical informatics, structuration and management of data from heterogeneous sources, computerized systems for decision aid and epidemiologic surveillance help.
These research works are made in collaboration with clinical teams and researcher from labeled teams of the site. They notably are included in the activities of UMR 1252 SESSTIM (Sciences Economiques & Sociales de la Santé & Traitement de l’Information Médicale) Inserm/IRD/ Aix-Marseille University from which the BioSTIC members are associated.
